Hi ubahmaduabuchi, Welcome to the Autodesk Community! There are no electrical symbols for architectural plans that are included in AutoCAD.
There are numerous web sites that have free or inexpensive libraries that can be downloaded. You can even find some available on the Autodesk App Store such as this. If you can't find exactly what you are looking for, you can of course create your own but this can be a tedious task. Please post your findings and let me know if I need to dig in my personal library to see if I can find some for you. (Which you will also likely need to customize to your standards) Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post fully solves your issue or answers your question. But I need more symbols than provided. Would anyone know where to get a symbol library to do this and how to instal it? There are all sorts of entities out there that offer DWG libraries of electrical symbols. There shouldn't be anything to 'install' presuming the library of symbols are DWG files. You can insert them using the insert command, or DesignCenter. MgagnonHABAA wrote: Hi, first off I've looked for this and I can't seem to find the correct answer. Your file contains no blocks: all you have are useless lines, arcs and shapes. Why are those symbols not blocks? They need to be blocks in order to do all that you want to do. Are you new to AutoCAD? Or have you always used AutOCAD like a drafting table with lines and arcs everywhere?
Just asking so we can better tailor help for you, you seem to have missed a lot of CAD basics. Do you know how to make these objects into blocks? Once they are blocks, you can start using the power of CAD to grab and insert them into other files. For example: Start ADCENTER command Go to where this file is located.

Select it, click on the + sign next to it, select BLOCKS, and go grab what blocks you want from inside that file and drag into your current file. Remember, those useless lines and arcs you call symbols need to be blocks first. Hi Mark, I prepared a Screencast video to show you how to use DesignCenter. I created a folder on my D: drive called Library. Theoretically this folder could exist on a network share so co-workers could access it as well. It could even be locked down so the symbols don't get changed except by authorized users.
In this folder I place my 'Master' files. I like to place blocks in a master file that relate to their type of discipline.
For instance, I have a master for each of the following in addition to many others:. Titleblocks. Annotation. Power. Lighting. SIte.
Furniture. Plumbing.

Lighting I then use Design Center to browse to the folder and the Master file from which I want to get a block. I select the file, then blocks and finally I see previews of the blocks. I can then drag the block into my current drawing or rt-click and insert it with options. As another option, I then open Tool Palettes.
I create a new palette, name it Electrical, and from Design Center, drarg the blocks onto the palette. Now I can see the blocks on the palette and drag them into my drawing file. I show then how to rt-click and set some insertion properties for the blocks as well.
I hope this helps. Please select the Accept as Solution button if my post solves your issue or answers your question. Hi Mark, I prepared a Screencast video to show you how to use DesignCenter.
